Question of the Day

Is it bad that instead of working out I've created an avatar of myself and I just keep her in spin class all day long?

Just Cause

I recently read a great article that highlights a new take on an old idea, Facebook's Causes application, which has just launched a new program featuring $25 and $50 Causes giftcards to be sold in supermarkets. While Causes won't be making any revenue off of these (just yet) they will be building their brand identity outside of the information superhighway as well as encouraging more people to engage in the act of supporting their favorite charities.

Aisle definitely be looking for these the next time I'm food shopping.

Cutie Pie

As an ant, Danny Devito or a man who is not well endowed will tell you, it's the little things that count, so can we talk about pie on a stick for a second? I can't think of a better way to end a dinner (or just add some adorable-ness to any ol moment) than with these delish little creations. They're easy to make and they look fantastic all lined up in a row. To make your table even more festive, put them in flower pots or mason jars or you may even want to try sticking them into the fruit that you've used to make the filling. For example, for apple pie stick them into apples of all colors. The best part is they're mobile and bite sized so they're perfect for standing eaters the same way hors de'ouvres are.

Click here for step by step instructions and be the host who truely takes the cake ..er um pie.

Stand with Haiti - Photography Auction and Fundraiser

I have recently partnered with NURU Project, an organization that leverages photography as an agent for social change in the developing world. Together we are organizing an event to benefit Partners in Health, a nonprofit dedicated to responding to the immediate needs of those affected by the recent earthquake and providing long-term health care to the people of Haiti. Visit nuruproject.org/events for all event information, to view some of the photographs that will be on auction and to make a donation to this incredibly important cause. 100% of the money raised will go to provide much needed care and every little bit helps.

Visit the New York Times City Room Blog to see an article written about the event.
